About Department
Department of Soil and Environmental Science started specialization in Soil science in 1966. At the time of its inception, this department started with nominal laboratory facilities and three faculty members. Despite limited facilities and being under staffed, 20-35 numbers of B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Hons) students had been produced every year. Most of our graduates get jobs in the Provincial Research, Extension and Soil Conservation wing of the department of Agriculture. Some of them get jobs in Soil Survey of Pakistan, Pakistan Forest Institute, PARC, NFDC, Fertilizer Industry and a good number of our graduates are working successfully in different banks dealing with agricultural credit supervision and technical services. Thus, it is quite satisfying that our graduates faced little problem of unemployment. Today, after thirty-nine years of its growth, this department has 9 Professor, 2 Associate Professor, 1 Lecturer and 1 JRS. Eleven faculty members of this department are PhD.
