Introduction:
Agriculture is the lifeline of the people living in the central Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is the most productive area, and constitutes an important pillar of the economy. The soil and climatic conditions are congenial for the cultivation of cereals, fruits, vegetables, and livestock rearing. However agricultural productivity has remained below the subsistence level due to multiple reasons including the lack of technical guidance/knowledge and human resources for the promotion of the agriculture and livestock sectors.
A wide range of crops are grown in central parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, depending on topography, rainfall pattern, irrigation, water availability, soils land potential and management practices. Most of the cropped area is planted with cereals, tobacco, sugarcane, and horticultural crops indicating farmers' reference to attain household food security needs as well as earning a respectable livelihood for their families.
Management and Computer Sciences are equally important to strategically gear the overall economic indicators of a viable economy. As the Government of Pakistan, serious efforts are needed to efficiently utilize the natural and economic resources of the country for the socio-economic welfare of the people.
