The University of Agriculture Peshawar Launches Paperless Governance System in Collaboration with NITB

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sar Zameen Khan inaugurates landmark digital transformation initiative aimed at modernizing administrative processes and promoting paperless governance across the University.


Peshawar, June 4, 2026: The University of Agriculture Peshawar has taken a major step towards digital transformation and paperless governance by formally launching the implementation of the E-Office/E-File System in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB), Islamabad.

The initiative has been undertaken under the visionary leadership of the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sar Zameen Khan, with the objective of modernizing administrative operations, enhancing institutional efficiency, and establishing a fully digital working environment across the University.

A delegation from NITB comprising Dr. Muhammad Wajahat Saeed, Deputy Director, NITB, and Ms. Mehvish Pirzada, Deputy Director, NITB, visited the University on June 4, 2026, and delivered a detailed presentation on the features, benefits, and implementation framework of the E-Office/E-File System. The presentation was attended by Deans, Directors, Chairpersons, Administrative Officers, and other senior officials of the University.

Following extensive correspondence, consultations, and a series of meetings between the University administration and NITB officials, the Honourable Vice Chancellor formally approved and launched the implementation process of the E-Office/E-File System.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Sar Zameen Khan described the initiative as a landmark achievement in the University's journey towards digital governance. He stated that the system would significantly reduce paper consumption, improve transparency, accelerate decision-making processes, and ensure efficient management of official records and correspondence.

The Vice Chancellor further emphasized that the initiative would save millions of rupees in recurring administrative costs, reduce processing time, strengthen accountability, and improve utilization of human resources. He added that comprehensive training programs would be conducted in phases to equip all University employees with the skills required to effectively use the new system.

He also informed participants that existing records and historical files would be systematically scanned, digitized, and integrated into the E-Office platform, ensuring secure storage and easy retrieval of institutional data. Upon full deployment and completion of staff training, official correspondence and file movement across the University will be processed through the online system.

The E-Office/E-File System, being implemented as a joint initiative of the University of Agriculture Peshawar and NITB Islamabad, is expected to revolutionize administrative operations and serve as a model for digital governance in higher education institutions.

The participants appreciated the initiative and expressed confidence that the project would contribute significantly to enhancing efficiency, transparency, sustainability, and service delivery across the University.
