Dean Message:
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Molecular and Biological Sciences (FMBS), University of Agriculture Peshawar — a dynamic and forward-looking academic community committed to excellence in education, research, innovation and service to society.
FMBS brings together two complementary institutes: the Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (IBGE) and the Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Emerging Technologies (IAHSET). Together, they create an interdisciplinary platform where Biotechnology, Molecular biology, Microbiology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Animal biotechnology, Allied Health Sciences and Emerging Technologies converge to address the scientific and societal challenges of our time.
The IBGE offers BSc (Hons), MPhil and PhD programmes in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, as well as in Microbiology. The IAHSET offers BSc (Hons) in Bioinformatics; MPhil and PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics; MPhil and PhD in Animal Biotechnology; and BS programmes in Allied Health Sciences. Collectively, these programmes provide students with opportunities to acquire advanced knowledge, practical skills and research capabilities in some of the most rapidly advancing fields of modern science.
Our vision goes beyond producing graduates. We aspire to develop scientists, innovators, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers who can translate knowledge into meaningful solutions. In a world facing climate change, food and nutritional insecurity, emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance and rapidly evolving healthcare and technological needs, molecular and biological sciences have a vital role to play in shaping a sustainable and healthier future.
As Dean, I am committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, cutting-edge research, innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration and professional integrity. We will continue to strengthen research capacity, expand national and international partnerships, promote industry-academia linkages and create opportunities for our students and researchers to contribute at both national and global levels.
At FMBS, we believe that education should inspire, research should solve problems, and innovation should create impact. Our students are the heart of this vision, while our dedicated faculty and researchers are its driving force.
