01 Research Fellow/Associate, 01 Daily paid laborer, 01 Office Accountant (part time) and 01 Technical assistant/helper (part time) Under Syngenta Sponsored Project, UAP.

Applications with attested copies of relevant documents are invited for the following positions under the project titled "Molecular characterization of root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) parasitizing tomato and cucumber in selected districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and their management through systemic coded product of Syngenta" sponsored by Syngenta, Pakistan. All positions are initially advertised for a period of one year and are likely to be continued till completion of the project (Maximum two years).
  1. Research Fellow/Associate (1 post)
    Research officer/Associate under the project is on monthly fixed salary. Candidates for the position should have Ist class master degree or equivalent in Agriculture with specialization in Plant Pathology (or Plant Nematology) and no third division or Grade D in their academic careers. Candidates with experience in Plant Nematology, especially having experience in nematode bioassays, maintaining pure cultures of plant parasitic nematodes, optimizing doses of nematicides, and their application in screen house and field trials, conducting field surveys and knowledge of the molecular techniques for nematode identification and characterization, will be given preference. Candidates having command on conducting experiments in laboratories, green houses, growth chambers and fields will be preferred. The candidate should be able to contribute to all aspects of experiments including planning, execution, analysis and reporting.
  2. One Daily paid laborer/DPL (1 post)
    Fixed salary per month, initially for one year and likely to be extended to 2nd years. The responsibilities include various tasks such as nursery raising in low plastic tunnels, planting/sowing, harvesting, feeding and spraying tomato and cumber crops in screen house and fields, treating the plants with pesticides/nematicides, maintenance of screen house and any assistance required in field surveys.
  3. Office Accountant (part time)
    Candidate (from the existing employees to be nominated by Treasurer or Registrar) should have Bachelor's qualification and must have prior office experience, preferably in accounting, office management and book keeping.
  4. Technical assistant/helper (one position/Part time, initially for one year and likely to be extended to 2nd year).
    Candidate should be F.SC/undergraduate, be able to develop culture of root knot nematodes using tomato and cucumber crops and be trained enough to estimate extract, isolate and determine nematode densities in soil and root samples. The candidate must be able to perform activities thrice a week.
