AUTA Warmly Welcomes the New Vice Chancellor

The General Body Meeting of the Agricultural University Teachers Association (AUTA) was held in the Main Auditorium of the University today to welcome Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Swati, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Peshawar. Prof. Dr. Iqbal Munir, President of AUTA lauded the decision of the Provincial Government in upholding merit by appointing the most competent person as the Vice Chancellor. He mentioned the joy and overwhelming support amongst the faculty, administration and students regarding the appointment of Prof. Dr. Zahoor A. Swati as the Vice Chancellor. In his welcome address, Dr. Munir thanked the faculty for reposing confidence in his team during the past elections. He also highlighted some of the problems being faced by the university, its faculty and students including the budgetary deficit and classroom shortages.

Prof. Dr. Zahoor A. Swati, Vice Chancellor, in his address, thanked the faculty and administration for their overwhelming support and gratitude on being elevated to the position of the Vice Chancellor. He promised to solve all the genuine problems of the faculty, researchers and students without differentiating between friends and foe, juniors and seniors but requested the faculty to actively play its role in academics and research selflessly and with devotion. He further remarked that honesty, accountability, supremacy of law, devotion to the growth and development of the university, promoting trust and mutual respect amongst the faculty and students shall be the hallmarks of his tenure as Vice Chancellor. He further stated that the University has given us the status, respect and now is the time that we shall payback the university in terms selfless devotion and hard work to raise its standing.

The incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor A. Swati and President AUTA Prof. Dr. Iqbal Munir lauded the services of the outgoing Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal. DR. Muhammad Arif, General Secretary AUTA vowed that the faculty and researchers would provide all out support to the incumbent Vice Chancellor in his efforts to improve the academic and research ranking of the University.
