Admission Notice for Spring Semester 2014
M.Sc (H)/MS/M.Phil/PhD Degree Programs

All interested candidates can apply for test (GAT General for M.Sc (H)/M.Phil/MS & GAT Subject for PhD) up to February 10, 2014 on prescribed Subject GRE admission test forms, available or on website
The Subject GRE Test will be held on February 16, 2014.
  • Those candidates whose results are awaited can only apply for test arranged for M.Sc(H)/MS/M.Phil.
  • GAT (General) with 50% score is acceptable to apply for admission in M.Sc (H)/MS/M.Phil Programs only.
  • GAT (Subject) with 60% score is acceptable to apply for admission in PhD Programs only.

General Eligibility

PhD Programs
  • Candidates must have qualified GAT-Subject (in the respective field of specialization)
  • Candidates possessing M.Sc (Hons) Agric/Animal Husbandry/M. Phil degree in the respective field of specialization with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (under semester system) or 1st division with 65% marks under annual system (with required course work) from a HEC recognized University.
  • For PhD admission in Rural Development: All candidates, having M.Sc (Hon) degree in Agriculture fields (only) can apply.
  • Other conditions apply
M.Sc (H) Agric/Animal Husbandry
  • Candidates possessing Minimum four years B.Sc. (Hons) Agric/AH or equivalent (HEC recognized) degree in the respective field of specialization.
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.5/4.0 (under semester system) or 2nd division with 56% marks (under annual system).
MS Programs (2 years)
Candidate having 16 years of education can apply with the qualifications, mentioned against each program:
  • MANAGEMENT SCIENCE (Priority areas for admission):
    1. Four Years BBA (Hons)
    2. MBA
    3. M.Com
    4. MA Economics (with 66 Credit Hours Course work).
    1. Four years BS (CS)
    2. MCS
    3. M. Sc (CS).
    1. Four years BS(IT) / BS(SE)
    2. MIT
    3. M.Sc (CS)
    Minimum CGPA of 2.5/4.0 (under semester system) or 2nd division with 56% marks (under annual system).
Specific Instructions
  1. Candidates are required to apply on prescribed Test Application Forms, available on university website on or before 10/02/2014, along with a deposit slip of Rs. 1200/- for PhD and Rs.1000/- for M.Sc(H)/MS/M.Phil Degree Programme (non refundable/transferable) as GAT Test fee in Account No. 7940-8 at Habib Bank Limited, The University of Agriculture, Peshawar Branch.
  2. Only those candidates who qualify GAT General with a minimum score of 50% for M.Sc (H)/MS/M.Phil. and GAT Subject of 60% for PhD Programmes, as well as, have valid degrees on closing date shall apply through online application system available on from 20.02.2014. Copy of filled form along with receipt of Rs.500/- shall be submitted to DASAR.
  3. Copy of complete Admission forms annexed with copies of all documents (from SSC to Graduate/Post graduate degrees and DMC's) duly attested shall be submitted to the DASAR office upto 28.02.2014.
  4. Migration Certificate in original shall also be required from candidates graduated from other institutions within one month of starting of classes.
  5. GAT-Subject test in "Agriculture", or "other groups of subjects" e.g. Crop Production Sciences, Crop Protection Sciences, Physical or Social Sciences etc are NOT acceptable for admission in any degree Programme.
  6. For PhD:
    i. In-Services candidates must apply for admission through proper channel along with No Objection Certificate (NOC)
    ii. Leave certificate initially for four semesters (except those university teachers, who are not sponsored by the HEC or any other agency, requires leave as a precondition) shall be provided within one month of grant of admission, failing which, admission of the candidate shall cease automatically.
  7. For M.Sc (H)/MS/M. Phil:
    i. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned Department (in case of in- Service candidates).
    ii. Leave from the concerned department (in- case of in-service candidates) requires for completion of course work (Except faculty members from main campus of UOA, if enrolled as part time scholars).
  8. Each candidate, who is not in-service shall submit an affidavit duly signed and stamped by Oath commissioner, showing that he/she is not employee of any department (public/private sector).
  9. All those candidates whose degrees are incomplete cannot apply for admission.
  10. Incomplete admission forms and applications received after due date shall NOT be entertained.
